The European Sunni Council for Da’wah and Fatwa is a scholarly and missionary institution dedicated to serving Muslims in Europe. It strives to promote the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah, based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah as understood by the early generations of the Ummah, while taking into account the reality of Muslims living in European societies and the intellectual, social, and legal challenges surrounding them.
The Council aims to provide sound and well-founded Islamic legal opinions (fatwas) and a balanced da’wah discourse that combines adherence to Islamic principles with awareness of contemporary realities. It seeks to fulfill the objectives of Islamic law, strengthen Muslim identity, and promote the values of justice, mercy, and positive coexistence.
The Council also works to connect Muslims with reliable Islamic scholarship, respond to misconceptions, and clarify Islamic rulings on emerging issues, while maintaining moderation, rejecting extremism and excess, and preserving unity.
